This is an alternate route to
Cosby (The Gatlinburg) it is named the Foothills Parkway, and originates
at Interstate 40 / Exit 443, and runs approximately 5.7 miles till it
terminates in Cosby at Hwy 321/32 very near Hwy 321/32 and the Hwy 339
(Jones Cove) intersection. The highest elevation point is
approximately 2,279.59 feet.
The speed limit along
the entire Foothills Parkway is 35 MPH. Warning sign include
"Watch for fallen rock" and "Feeding wildlife or picking
plants prohibited"
There is only ONE area that
allows passing (without a double yellow line) at it is very near the start
of the Foothills Parkway, it is from .2 TO ONLY .25 miles from start of
the Parkway. There are 4 or more pull-offs, but no additional
passing lanes.
